Schools and Educational institution Visits

School and Group Visits:

This activity was started in the early 1990’s.

The local school boards have a curriculum on religious studies with Hinduism included as a Chapter, in their middle school program. Every year, teachers from several schools bring their students to visit the Temple. Some of the Board members volunteer to talk to them about the history of the Temple and rudiments of the precepts of Hinduism.

Besides the school visits, several other religious and non-religious groups, including university students, RCMP, teachers, Scouts, cubs etc., also visit the temple. The temple receives over 1,000 visitors every year. In the year 2019, 1,215 such visits took place. This service is greatly appreciated by the schools and all visitors.

Because of COVID-19, this activity is mostly on hold since March 2020 with few sessions done on line.

We have since restarted and the first such visit happened on November 3, 2022.
